"As an internationalist party the Liberal Democrats are proud to have many members and supporters living overseas.
"But, until last year, we never tried to bring them together and make them feel included in our great Party. So setting up Liberal Democrats Abroad in 2010 was a really welcome initiative.
"Our aim is that through Liberal Democrats Abroad we can have greater participation in the Party by our members and supporters overseas. We want to hear your views on our policies and we want to listen to your concerns. We would also of course like to see the number of members increase.
"I also want us to have as many of our supporters living overseas who are eligible to vote to do so in the General Elections in 2015. These are fascinating times in UK politics and as a member of a coalition government we are in a position to make a difference. And we need your support.
"So I hope that if you are currently a member of the Party living overseas you can join one of the new branches of Liberal Democrats Abroad that we are setting up. Through these branches you can give us your support. I also hope you can encourage potential or lapsed members to join too.
"If you are interested in joining us, please do so by clicking on “How to join”.
"You can also find out on this website more about us and where we have LDA branches. Please do also get in contact with us. We welcome your views."
