Setting the Agenda
Liberal Democrat
One-Day Manifesto Conference
London
School of Economics, 12 January 2008
Latest News: The agenda for the day is now available here.
This event is now fully booked. We
are not taking any new registrations for Saturday.
The Liberal
Democrat Manifesto Group is organising a special one day conference to give
party members an opportunity to contribute to the development of the party’s
next general election manifesto. It will involve leading figures in the
party and invited guest speakers, and will be modelled on the successful 2006
‘Meeting the Challenge’ Conference.
This conference will include:
o an opening keynote speech by Nick Clegg - his first public speech as Leader of the Liberal Democrats;
o a major debate on the political challenges presented by the other parties, and the political opportunities for the Liberal Democrats;
o a question and answer panel on the best way to improve public services;
o and a series of breakout workshops run by party organisations and think-tanks.
Last time, places at the one-day conference were fully booked well in
advance.
The venue is the Old Theatre at the LSE on Houghton Street
(WC2A 2AE - 'how to get to' map).
The Liberal Democrat
Group at the LGA (Local Government Association) are delighted to be supporting
the one-day manifesto conference - with over 4,500 councillors across the UK our
local government base has direct experience of delivering better services for
residents all year round, and not just at election time.
If you are
unable to attend but would like to submit a question to one of the question and
answer panels, please send it by email to questions@libdems.org.uk by noon on
Friday 11th January.
Any queries regarding the conference, please
