Conference also discusses and votes on reports from the Liberal Democrat parliamentary parties in the House of Commons, House of Lords and European Parliament. The parliamentary parties aren’t accountable to conference in the same way as the committees, but the report sessions gives conference a chance to say what they think of the parliamentary parties’ work. These reports are also sent out with the Agenda, and will be available here.
Any voting rep can submit questions to any of these reports. The reports document will explain how questions can be submitted.
Party strategy and organisation can also be debated by conference, through business motions. Some party business – such as subscription rates, or amendments to the party constitution – must be approved by conference. The procedure for submitting business motions is exactly the same as for policy motions, so see this page for details.
This short guide to writing motions explains the different types of business motion.
