How do we use / share your information?

How we will use your information

The Party may use the information you share with us to provide you with details about our campaigns and policies that may be of interest to you. We may also use it to better understand the issues and positions that matter to you and others in the wider area.

Here are some examples about how we may use the information we collect about you:

  • Canvass for political support
  • Provide advice and analyse political issues in your area
  • Administer membership records
  • Conduct fundraising activities
  • Tell you about any policies and activities that may be of interest to you
  • Manage our sites and services
  • Process surveys you have participated in
  • Tell you about changes to your membership

 

Information Sharing

The Party will not sell your personal data to third parties. We will share your personal data within the Party and with trusted service providers as set out in this Notice. We may also disclose your personal data when required by law and/or government authorities where they have legitimate grounds to request the information (e.g. the police, central government).

If you donate more than £500, the Party will use the information you have provided to check that you are on the electoral register. If you donate over £7,500 to the Party, we are required to report this donation to the Electoral Commission who will publish your donation. Service providers

We will use third party service providers to undertake processing operations on our behalf, and this may require us to share your personal data with them. We will only provide our trusted service providers with the minimum amount of personal data they need to fulfil the services we request, and we stipulate that they protect this information and do not use it for any other purpose.

For example, if you use a credit or debit card to make a payment we send the details to PayPal, who we employ to do our online payment processing. The Party will not keep your card details, other than the type of card used. However, details may be stored by our payment providers (i.e. SagePay or PayPal) for the purposes of processing further payments you have instructed us to collect.

Retention period

We only keep your personal data for as long as required to meet the purposes set out in this Notice, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
