The Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords today encouraged people to give
their views on the future of the Upper House, by placing a ballot in a ballot
box outside Parliament.
The public's response was overwhelmingly in
favour of democratic reform.
Commenting, Liberal Democrat Peer
Lord Teverson said:
"It was good to see so many
members of the public voting in our ballot outside the House of Lords
today.
"The result showed a large majority for a fully
elected House. We hope there will be a big response on our website while
the debate continues on this very important subject."
