“Cosmetic surgery is a medical intervention with all the associated risks but you would never know that from the way it is advertised," said the Liberal Democrat MP.
Commenting on today’s Royal Society of Medicine report into the risks of cosmetic surgery, Jo Swinson said:
“This damning report shows the need for better regulation of cosmetic surgery advertising, which should clearly state the success rates of procedures.
“Cosmetic surgery is a medical intervention with all the associated risks but you would never know that from the way it is advertised, with supermarket-like two for one offers.
“That is why we are supporting the Royal Society of Medicine’s efforts to clean up the industry.”
