BIOGRAPHY

Dr Dave Radcliffe was born in 1973. After a Comprehensive education, he went to UMIST, Manchester to study for a degree in Chemistry, followed by a PhD. He then moved to Birmingham in 1998 to work at the University of Birmingham.

Dave's political activities have included being elected as a students' union sabbatical officer, representing 7,000 university students.

He was elected as a councillor in Birmingham in 2004. Birmingham is the largest local authority in Western Europe. Dave is currently the chairman of the City Council's Audit Committee, cracking down on fraud, and ensuring the council gets value for money.

Dave is a keen cyclist, and enjoys mountain biking and cycling on road. He chairs the City's "Cycle Advisory Group" - that provides a link between Councillors, local cycling groups, and council officers.

Dave plays football regularly. He is also a keen photographer.

Speaking after his selection by local party members, Dave said:

"I will campaign for quality public services for everyone in Selly Oak, whether they live, work or study here.

"I have a record of action in Selly Oak, and will carry on working hard across the Selly Oak constituency."
