Peter joined the Liberal Party in 1980 and has campaigned for the Liberals and then the Liberal Democrats ever since. He is a prospective Euro-candidate for the East of England constituency.
Peter studied politics at Exeter University before beginning work with the National Audit Office in London. His career has also involved spells working with United Nations bodies based in Rome, with the Bolivian government, and with the European Union. In all these roles, his aim has been to reduce waste and improve accountability.
Peter's wife, Inma, is Spanish and they have three daughters. Away from politics, Peter enjoys sport - particularly cricket and rugby. He achieved a childhood ambition of playing international cricket when already past forty (but - sadly - only for Luxembourg).
More than twenty years of experience in accountability arrangements for the public sector, starting with the National Audit Office, and involving assignments with the United Nations, the EU and in Bolivia.
