In response to reports of a secret international agreement on intellectual property rights, Liberal Democrat Shadow Culture, Media and Sport Secretary Don Foster has written to Lord Mandelson demanding that he come clean on the implications of the agreement for UK legislation.
Commenting, Don Foster said:
“Lord Mandelson must act to release the details of this agreement as soon as possible.
“Legislation on internet piracy is currently being debated in Parliament. Given that this agreement could override any decisions taken over the next few months, MPs have a right to know what is being decided.”
