HS2 will reduce journey times and transfer around 9 million journeys from road to rail and 4.5 million from air to rail.
A stronger, more balanced economy High Speed 2 (HS2) will link London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds, boosting growth and investment in regions outside London and the South East.
Creating 100,000 jobs HS2 will create 100,000 jobs directly and support up to 1 million jobs in the long term.
