Alex works in London for an international manufacturing business; and is Deputy Leader of Richmond Borough Council.
He spent five years in the Territorial Army and has worked as an independent government adviser on regulation.
Alex is married and has three young sons.
A committed campaigner, Alex is a strong supporter of the importance local businesses, stopping Brexit and is pressing for serious investment in NHS services in East Surrey (including mental health).
Locally, Alex has taken up campaigns to see a permanent stop to fracking at the Horse Hill site near Horley, improved public transport provision and has worked with local campaigners to defend library provision across the constituency.
