Stop hard Brexit - amend the bill

Next week, MPs will be voting on the final amendments to the EU withdrawal bill.

The Government's majority is wafer thin - and if MPs from all parties work together, there's a real chance we can defeat them.

That's why we're asking you to contact your MP and ask them to support an amendment NC11 - that amendment would ensure that:

  1. The Government assess the impact of either an agreement or ‘no deal’ on the UK economy and the regions and publish the assessment before a vote in Parliament.
  2. If Parliament rejects the agreement or the ‘no deal’ option, the Government must revoke Article 50 and exit from Brexit or seek an extension to Article 50 to enable further negotiations with the EU to take place.

Your support will make a huge difference and persuade the MPs we need to back our amendments - so please, contact them today:

Dear MP,

Whether you support Leave or Remain, I hope you would agree that MPs should have a meaningful vote on any deal the UK government strike with the EU.

I hope you would also agree that for a vote to be meaningful, MPs should be provided with an accurate assessment of the economic impact of any deal (or indeed No deal) on the UK economy and the regions. Furthermore, a meaningful vote must give MPs the option of voting to stay in the EU or extending the negotiations with the EU, as well as the option of voting for the deal or settling for No deal. NC11 provides for these options.

I urge you therefore, by Monday, to add your name to NC11 to the EU Withdrawal Bill.

I look forward to receiving confirmation that you have signed this amendment or your explanation for your unwillingness to.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,
