The first Monday of the month and once again time for #LibDemPint!
October is Black History Month, and London Liberal Democrats are proud to celebrate it in traditional style. There will be rousing speeches from party members and time to talk and discuss the issues at hand.
• Lauren Pemberton-Nelson joined the party in 2015 and stood as a council by-election candidate for Southwark at the beginning of this year. She is incredibly passionate about intersectionality issues, especially in regards to sexism and racism.
• Ukonu Obasi is our PCC for Walthamstow. He is an experienced Public Health Specialist, passionate about education and and has lectured at various colleges and universities in the UK and Nigeria. Secretary of the University of Nigeria UK Alumni Association, he has volunteered for a range of charities including the British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK, Asthma UK and local charity groups.
• Pauline Pearce is a grassroots campaigner with Hackney Lib Dems who has spent years working for her borough. Also known as ‘Lady P’ and ‘The Hackney Heroine’, Pauline received the London Peace Award after standing up to rioters in her local community. Now co-founder of Hackey’s Good Love Caribbean Food, Pauline used to run a Caribbean restaurant and frequently delights people with her soul and jazz repertoire.
Come along, have a chat and a drink and discuss one of society’s most important political issues.
