Ian Flynn and is delighted to be standing as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Dudley North. He lives in the Black Country with my wife and young family.
Ian worked in public and private sector roles, including in teaching, marketing and business development, and have spent periods living and working elsewhere in Europe as well as Asia. Through these varied experiences, he has a range of insights and skills can put to good use as a representative of the people in Parliament.
The Dudley area has fallen further behind London and the South East in terms of incomes and investment. While progress is being made in the West Midlands overall, it seems to be taking a while to filter down to Dudley Borough and Dudley North. Ian says 'I cannot believe we’re still looking at the eyesore Cavendish House and what to do with Dudley Hippodrome remains unresolved. I’d like to see more done to support the high street and even the playing field with the digital retailers, to attract more funding and investment, and to repurpose our town centres to better protect our local communities. We’re the fifth largest economy in the world, so we shouldn’t have young people sleeping rough on our streets.'
We need to properly fund the NHS, public transport, policing and our schools – 10 years of damaging cuts are impacting our communities and we all live with the impacts of this every day.
As your MP Ian would work to empower and unite the local community, to access better educational opportunities for all, tackle our adult social care and mental health challenges, and protect the environment for our young people’s futures.
