Liberal Democrats

Martin Wrigley

Newton Abbot

Martin Wrigley is a local champion and a councillor who helps local residents and stands up for the area.  He wants to do more and will be an outstanding MP.  Martin’s priorities are tackling Climate Change, support our community, our schools and our NHS.

Too many government processes and systems have lost sight of the people and lack empathy for the people that they are supposed to be helping. Universal Credit demonstrates a system that just doesn’t care.

The South West and Teignbridge/Newton Abbot in particular have been poorly served and starved of much needed funds for our schools, NHS and critical services and Martin is determined to work to put that right.

Environmental pollution is killing our beautiful county with single-use plastics and air pollution high on the list.  Martin has been helping reduce plastics and dedicated to encouraging a new carbon free economy

Martin has worked in the hi-tech industry for over 30 years, with a background in engineering and senior management. Growing up in a Navy family, Martin lived all over the world. Twenty years ago, he and his young family chose to settle in Devon.  A former Mayor of Dawlish, Martin is currently a Dawlish Town and Teignbridge District Councillor.

Martin says “I want future generations to have every opportunity we have now - and more. We have the technology and the desire to put our environment first and to support our community, our schools and our NHS.  With the public’s backing, we can build a flourishing economy and a caring society while maintaining the ecology and beauty of our local area.”
