Debates on policy and business motions are at the heart of federal conference. It is through them that the party sets its policy and future direction. Unlike the conference of the other parties, Liberal Democrat conference is sovereign, and what it decides really matters.
Ordinary members will be able to submit items here for debate at party conference. The final decision about the contents of the agenda is made by the democratically-elected Federal Conference Committee.

The motions deadline for Autumn Conference is 1pm on Wednesday 1 July 2020.
The Federal Conference Committee has decided to hold open the deadline for motions specifically on the topics of 1. Europe and 2. The Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic until 14 September, because of the highly changeable situation in both cases.
