You are warmly invited to North East Essex Liberal Democrats' Annual General Meeting (AGM), from 7.30pm on Tuesday 22nd November 2016 at the Methodist Church Hall, Forge Lane, Great Bentley, CO7 8PQ. If you are unable to make the start of the meeting, please feel free to turn up later.
This year we will be hearing from Liberal Democrat peer Baroness Smith of Newnham on the topic 'Where next for the UK's European Relations?'. She is Director of the European Centre and Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the Department of Politics and International Studies, Cambridge University, and a Fellow of Robinson College. Her academic interests lie in the study of the EU, especially its relationship with the UK, so her thoughts on Brexit should be very interesting! She is also a City Councillor for Newnham ward on Cambridge City Council and a Vice-Chair of the party's Federal Policy Committee.
The AGM is a meeting held once a year to review the year's activities, for reports from the elected officers, for asking and answering questions, and to elect an Executive Committee, officers, and other positions to run the local party for the next year.
