Zöe Franklin is Parliamentary Candidate for Guildford, Cranleigh and Villages, former Guildford Borough councillor and 2017 General Election candidate. She lives in Guildford with her husband and two children having moved from Farnham in 1999 to read music at University of Surrey.
She currently works for ALDC as a Development Officer. Zöe is a tireless campaigner and is determined to be a voice for everyone in Guildford.
Listening to local people, businesses and other organisations has always been a priority for Zöe. As MP, her first priority is being a strong voice in Parliament for everyone across her constituency.
Zöe's top priorities are:
1. Listening & acting for Guildford
Zöe has spent over 10 years fighting for the businesses and people of Guildford and as MP would continue this work. She is committed to ensuring she’s accessible to everyone in our communities.
2.Action on the Climate Emergency
Tackling the climate emergency is essential and urgent as it feeds into all other areas of policy. Zöe will work with Liberal Democrats and across the political spectrum to crack down on air pollution and invest in renewable energy, creating green jobs across the UK.
3. Fighting for a Thriving Future for Everyone
A thriving local economy opens the door for people to thrive too. Zöe will work to ensure a sustainable, successful economy that works for everyone. We need top-quality, well-funded education from pre-school to university and for adults looking to re-skill. We also need a properly funded NHS and social system, and the right housing and infrastructure to meet the needs of our communities. Finally, knitting this all together needs to be a focus on changing the way we travel, do business, shop and relax so that we all live greener lives.
Together we can make this happen.
