Clare McLaren

Candidate for Angus and Perthshire Glens

General Election - 4 July 2024

Claire McLaren

Claire is from an agriculture and rural background, brought up on a generational dairy farm in Perthshire. Many of her wider family work within the industry. She has a strong understanding of the agriculture and wider rural sector, the importance they play in countryside management and food production. She appreciates the challenges facing rural areas, such as availability of housing, transport, health care and adequate broadband. She is working hard as a Perth & Kinross Councillor to reduce these challenges locally.

Claire brings her agriculture knowledge to her Agriculture Spokesperson role for the Scottish Liberal Democrats, strengthening the parties voice at such a critical point for the industry and wider agriculture communities.

Claire has operated her own businesses in property and retail and supported a generational family business. She is a supporter of female led businesses through mentoring and views entrepreneurism as a vital part of creating a healthy economy.
