Jonny Singh

Jonny Singh is the Liberal Democrat Candidate for Brent East. Jonny was our GLA constituency candidate for Brent and Harrow in May. He is a strong local campaigner and works nationally to develop the party’s international affairs policy.

Jonny grew up in the southwest of England and served in the Royal Air Force as an officer and helicopter pilot. Jonny flew search and rescue missions working with the emergency services to rescue citizens in distress before transferring to fly Chinook combat helicopters carrying out missions across the world, including four deployments to Afghanistan where he was twice decorated for gallantry in action.

After leaving the RAF Jonny and transitioned into the international development sector working to support communities affected by conflict, crisis, and poverty in Nicaragua, Myanmar, Tanzania, South Sudan, and Nigeria. He now works on international education programs.

Jonny volunteers to support children with additional needs in Brent as part of a youth charity and is committed to improving services and support for carers and for children and young people with special educational needs.

Jonny’s priorities for Brent are improving access to NHS services, tackling the cost of living crisis, investment in local youth services and youth mental health, and protecting our green spaces and waterways.
