Kieren McCarthy lives in Putney with his wife and two daughters.

A policymaker and journalist, he has spent much of his career tracking the impact and influence of the internet, particularly how it is governed. He had written for, among others, The Guardian, The Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Register, New Scientist, New Statesman, and The Independent.

He worked for Internet oversight body ICANN, based in Los Angeles, for several years before becoming the Executive Director of non-profit Internet content policy group IFFOR, and recently won election as a Non-executive Director of Nominet, the organisation that operates the .uk internet registry.

Kieren is a passionate believer in public service, proper policymaking and compassionate politics.
