Lucy Care

Candidate for South Derbyshire

General Election - 4 July 2024

Lucy Care

Lucy is an engineer. She was on maternity leave when Derbyshire County Council planned to close lots of local libraries. As a result she became active as a Liberal Democrat and was elected to the County Council.

She was later elected to Derby City Council.

Her Council experience showed her that we need the right decisions at Westminster to achieve the best for people locally. She therefore stood for parliament and got involved in Lib Dem policy making.

Lucy is a strategic thinker, who also likes detail. She applies her science and engineering understanding to her passion for the environment and sustainability. This includes the need for communities to have services like doctors, dentists, buses and shops, as well as moving to a society which no longer depends on fossil fuels.

Lucy is a Quaker, is known for cycling locally and enjoys gardening and crafts.
