Data Protection Rules

As part of our preparations to be compliant with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the party introduced a Member's Data Protection Code at Southport Conference. Updates to these rules were approved at Autumn Conference 2018. The Member's Data Protection Code was included in the Federal Board Report to Conference.

These rules govern how all members must use, store and handle data gathered under the name of the Liberal Democrats.

The full text of the Member's Data Protection Code can be found here.

A Plain English Version of the Member's Data Protection Code can be found here.

We now have guidelines for using Whatsapp in any Liberal Democrat capacity. Please read these guidelines here: Whatsapp Rules
