Latest borrowing figures: "last thing Reeves wanted to see before Christmas"

Responding to newly published figures showing that government borrowing was higher than expected in November, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson Daisy Cooper MP said:
"These figures are the last thing Rachel Reeves wanted to see before Christmas, after her hopeless Budget fell flat last month.
“The proof of the pudding is in the eating and this is proof that the government’s strategy of tax now, hope for growth later simply isn’t working.
“All we want for Christmas is a growth-boosting customs union with the EU.”
