Burgarlies to be attended: An improvement considering 45,000 went unattended last year

Responding to the news that officers in England and Wales have met a target to attend every domestic burglary scene, Liberal Democrat Home Affairs Spokesperson Alistair Carmichael MP said:

"The police attending every burglary is a significant achievement - particularly considering that more than 45,000 burglaries went unattended just last year.

"Now, the Government must adopt another Liberal Democrat policy - a return to proper community policing, where officers have the time and resources to focus on tackling local crime. It's the only way to empower forces to consistently attend, and properly investigate, every burglary"
