EMBARGO: Immediate Release

Responding to the news that Johnny Timpson, who advised No 10 on its dementia strategy, has resigned, Liberal Democrat Leader Ed Davey MP said:

“The Conservatives' treatment of unpaid carers is scandalous.

“For years carers going above and beyond for their families have been taken for granted by Rishi Sunak and his Government.

“Ministers should value and support our wonderful carers, not treat them like criminals. They must fix the flawed and failing Carer's Allowance system as an urgent priority.”
