Davey: Ministers must stop hiding and publish the DIP immediately

Responding the continuous absence of, and reported ongoing delays to, the Defence Investment Plan, Liberal Democrat Leader Ed Davey said: 

“It's shambolic and dangerous that, as we approach a year since the Strategic Defence Review was published, the Defence Investment Plan is still nowhere to be found. At a time when we face an increasingly aggressive Kremlin and an unreliable ally in the White House, Ministers must stop hiding and publish the DIP immediately. You cannot defend the country with a pile of unpublished reports.

“Our armed forces also need an immediate cash injection and that is why Liberal Democrats are calling for the issuance of Defence Bonds, to raise £20 billion over two years and provide a secure, ring-fenced way to strengthen our sovereign capability and end this inexcusable era of stagnation.”
