Earnings Stats: Govt must do more

New figures released this morning show a reduction in average earnings to 7.3% (excluding bonuses). Commenting on the statistics, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson Sarah Olney MP said:

“Today's figures are another worrying signal for the state of our economy after years of Conservative mismanagement.

“As the cost-of-living crisis rages on, this Government must do more for hard-working families who continue to see their pay squeezed by mortgages, unfair tax rises and energy bills. We urgently need to see a proper plan from ministers to support people and grow our economy.”
