Ed Davey: Trump must come “face to face” with UK steel workers

17 Sep 2025

EMBARGO: Immediate Release

Commenting on the beginning of Donald Trump’s state visit, Ed Davey Leader of the Liberal Democrats said:

“Donald Trump needs to come face to face with the livelihoods he is ruining with his punitive tariffs. He should be put in a room with steel workers who can lay out the impact his senseless policies are having.

“And maybe Nigel Farage should go along too. As he plays dress up and pretends to care about the plight of steel workers, his idol Trump is the one who is putting their jobs at risk.”
