G7: Foreign Secretary needs to tell Rubio that the State Visit is off

As the Foreign Secretary meets G7 Foreign Ministers, including Marco Rubio, in France for talks in which the US-Israeli war with Iran will be the main focus, Liberal Democrat Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Calum Miller MP said: 

"As they meet today at the G7, the Foreign Secretary needs to tell Marco Rubio that the King's State Visit is off.

"Donald Trump's illegal war in Iran has already cost the UK £15 billion - and millions of Britons are now having to live with the consequences of his actions. He has also mocked our troops, as well as our aircraft carriers that are named after Queen Elizabeth and the Prince of Wales.

“The Foreign Secretary must send a clear message to the White House: that Britain won't lavish Trump with the praise and pomp he craves, all while he denigrates our troops, pushes up the costs we face and tries to drag us into his forever war.”
