Lib Dems call for cost of living package as 'awful April' costs cliff edge “no joke”

Responding to the 'awful April' bill rises expected today [Wednesday 1st April], Daisy Cooper MP, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson, said:

"This April 1st is no joke for the millions of families and small businesses fearing a costs cliff edge that will push many into the red. 

"As water and mobile tariffs soar, car tax rises and higher business rates take hold, it’s no wonder ‘awful April’ will feel so much harder than in previous years.

“The Government’s failure to get Britain growing again is being compounded by Trumpflation which is set to increase costs for families even further. 

“We need an urgent cost of living plan that makes sure those who are struggling get the help they need as this crisis deepens.”
