Premium Bonds: Govt should set up dedicated phone line so people can get what they are owed

5 Aug 2025

EMBARGO: Immediate Release

Responding to findings that there are 2.5 million premium bond prizes that remain unclaimed totalling more than £100 million, Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesperson Daisy Cooper MP said:

“In the midst of a cost of living crisis, when people are having to make every penny count, it is staggering that the Government is sitting on all this unclaimed money that could make a real difference.

“It is time for ministers to get a grip on this situation and make sure that this money gets to its rightful owners.

“That should start by creating a new information campaign and new dedicated phone line about these dormant millions so that people know they can claim this cash and get much needed financial support.”
