Rail fare increase: A slap in the face

Responding to the latest increase in rail fares, Liberal Democrat Transport Spokesperson Wera Hobhouse MP said:

“How dare the Government hike these fares when so many services struggle to run on time.

"This is a slap in the face in the middle of a cost of living crisis. Ministers are turning a blind eye to rail firms failing to run services on time whilst hiking ticket prices. If this Government cared at all about commuters, they would freeze rail fares immediately.

“The Liberal Democrats continue to fight for a fairer deal for commuters and families who, yet again, are being asked to fork out even more for services in the middle of a cost of living crisis."
