Reeves' Mais announcement just “more dither and delay”

Responding to Rachel Reeves' Mais lecture, Daisy Cooper MP, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson, said:

“After two anti-growth Budgets and a wasted eighteen months, this was yet more dither and delay. The obvious answer on economic growth is a new UK-EU customs union and despite it staring the Chancellor in the face, she yet again chose to ignore it.

“This Government must finally walk the walk and take bold action to forge a deeper trade and defence deal with Europe. Labour must take up our common sense proposal to get Britain growing again, boost our brilliant British businesses and end the cost of living crisis.”
