Spring Statement: Critical moment for our national and economic security

Commenting ahead of the Government’s Spring Statement, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson, Daisy Cooper MP said:

“This Spring Statement comes at a critical time for our national and economic security. Trump’s illegal actions in Iran will be felt in people’s pockets here with the cost of fuel and food set to rise.

“Rachel Reeves should scrap the Government’s planned fuel duty hike to soften the blow of soaring petrol prices.

“The Government must also urgently secure a better trade and defence deal with the EU to tackle the cost of living, get Britain growing again, and protect our country.”
