Thames Water CEO: Revolving door must end

14 Jul 2023

EMBARGO: IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Responding to new Thames Water CEO Cathryn Ross refusing to apologise for her role as CEO of Ofwat when water companies got into a financial mess, Liberal Democrat Environment spokesperson Tim Farron MP said:

"Thames Water and Ofwat have failed to act to stop sewage discharges and tax payers being taken for a ride by shareholders ladening water companies with debt.

"To make things worse, the current co-CEO of Thames Water refused to apologies for the failure of regulation when she was CEO of Ofwat. This revolving door must end.

"The Conservative's must now act to transform Thames Water into a public benefit corporation to ensure this can never happen again."
