About the seat: Banbury is a north Oxfordshire constituency taking in the town of Banbury along with Chipping Norton, Charlbury and the surrounding villages, spanning Cherwell and West Oxfordshire districts.

The Liberal Democrats lead all three councils covering the seat: Oxfordshire County Council, where we won our first ever majority in 2025, Cherwell District Council and West Oxfordshire District Council. Lib Dem councillors already represent Chipping Norton, Charlbury and many of the surrounding villages, giving the successful candidate a strong local base to build on. Councillors are happy to answer applicants' questions about any of these councils.
