About Bermondsey & Old Southwark
Bermondsey & Old Southwark is one of the Liberal Democrats' most historic constituencies. Represented by Sir Simon Hughes for more than thirty years, it has long been synonymous with Liberal Democrat community politics and campaigning.
Following the 2026 local elections, the Liberal Democrats are once again the largest party across the constituency. Bermondsey & Old Southwark has now been officially designated a target seat by the Liberal Democrats. With an experienced Council Group, an ambitious Local Party and a growing membership, the constituency represents one of the Party's strongest opportunities to rebuild Liberal Democrat parliamentary representation in inner London.
We are looking for a candidate who will do more than contest the next General Election. We are seeking a leader who can strengthen our organisation, build a winning campaign, champion our diverse communities and work in partnership with members, volunteers and councillors to return a Liberal Democrat MP.
If you share that ambition, we look forward to receiving your application.
