Prospective Westminster Parliamentary Candidate for Penistone and Stocksbridge

The Local Party Executive of Sheffield Liberal Democrats (jointly covered with Barnsley and Penistone Liberal Democrats, with Sheffield taking the lead for this selection) invites applications for the selection of a Prospective Westminster Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency of Penistone and Stocksbridge. Applications must be received by the Returning Officer no later than 12 noon on 6th November 2026.

The Liberal Democrats have a strong council base in the Penistone and Chapeltown area of the seat, giving a real foundation of local activists and councillors to build a Westminster campaign on. The Liberal Democrats have 22 councillors on Sheffield City Council and 7 on Barnsley Council. 

To apply, please use the provided online links to fill out the Candidate Application Form as well as the Candidate Statement & Diversity Form.

Separately, please email the following documents to the Returning Officer:

• Election Artwork: This should be a political CV or manifesto, limited to a single side of A4 in PDF format which is maximum 10 MB in size. This document will be included in the e-ballot and posted member mailing.
