London Councils Directly-Elected Mayors

London Region invites applications from members wishing to stand as our candidates for the directly-elected mayors of Hackney, Lewisham, Newham and Tower Hamlets, in the local elections in May 2026. Applicants need not yet be on the approved candidates list but must be able to fulfil the residency etc requirements to stand in their chosen borough. To apply, at this stage simply email the Regional Candidates Chair, Dave Raval on daveraval@gmail.com stating which borough(s) you are interested in, and how you would qualify to stand in that borough (e.g. whether you live or work there), before 1700 on 26 December 2025. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that their application is received by this time.
