Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Liverpool Garston Constituency
The Local Party Executive of Liverpool Liberal Democrats invite applications for selection as the Prospective Westminster Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency of Garston Applications must be received by the Returning Officer no later than 13:00 on Sunday 8 March
Liverpool Garston represents the south of Liverpool city, including the popular local areas of Garston, Woolton and Hunt’s cross. The constituency is home to the city’s international John Lennon Airport and several parks and the waterfront promenade and Oglet shore.
The constituency was redrawn in 2023 and first contested in the 2024 general election. In the previous election we had a vote share of 7.7% and represents the highest Liberal Democrat vote in the city. Locally we currently hold a majority of the local council seats within the constituency and aim to increase this further in our next
local elections in 2027.
We believe this constituency is a prime area for gaining a Liberal Democrat MP within the city, and we are looking for an enthusiastic PPC to lead this campaign.
To apply applicants must email the Returning Officer:
- Election Artwork (such as a political cv/manifesto) of no more than one side of A4 in PDF format, which will be used for the member mailing and e-ballot;
- Their contact details;
- A signed Candidate Statement & Diversity Form
