Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for North Somerset

The Local Party Executive of North Somerset Local Party Liberal Democrats invite applications for selection as the Prospective Westminster Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency of North Somerset. Applications must be received by the Returning Officer no later than 15 May 2026 at 23 59.
 

North Somerset Constituency (NS) is completely contained within the North Somerset Council Unitary authority (NSC). NSC also includes Weston-super-Mare constituency and part of Wells & Mendip Hills constituency. NS constituency consists of the towns of Clevedon, Nailsea and Portishead together with a number of villages. The population is roughly 75% white British with low levels of both deprivation and poor health. NS constituency elected a Labour member at the last election, having previously elected Conservatives. North Somerset Council has been under No Overall Control since 2019. It is currently run by a partnership administration of Lib Dems, Greens, Labour and Independents, including the 1 Lib Dem from NS constituency. NSC’s Leader is a Lib Dem from Weston-super-Mare.

    and e-ballot;
