The Local Party Executive of Christchurch Liberal Democrats invite applications for selection as the Prospective Westminster Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency of Christchurch. Applications must be received by the Returning Officer no later than 2355 on 31 July 2026

Christchurch is a semi-rural constituency in Dorset with c.70,000 voters. It is bordered by the New Forest, coastline, North Dorset and the conurbation of Bournemouth. Its wards span the unitary councils of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) and Dorset Council. The Lib Dems have political control of both councils. The parliamentary seat was won by Lib Dems in a 1993 by-election. It was regained by Sir Christopher Chope (Conservative) at the 1997 general election and he remains constituency MP. It is not known whether he will stand again as he will be 82 years old in 2029.
