Hours: Full Time

Salary: from £35,000

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in bringing the Liberal Democrats’ message to life across the country. As Visits and Events Manager, you will be the driving force behind the delivery of major media moments for the party, such as press conferences and photo ops. Working at the intersection of politics and logistics, you will ensure every event is professionally delivered, on-brand, and aligned with strategic communications objectives.

You will work collaboratively with parliamentary offices, the national press and campaigns teams, and local parties to ensure that visits and events maximise political impact, generate strong media and digital content, and resonate with voters.

Key responsibilities:
Campaign set pieces: Manage the technical and logistical delivery of major campaign moments such as press conferences, rallies, and photo opportunities, ensuring they are professionally staged and high impact.
Visits, events and tours: Planning and delivery of high-profile visits and events for the Party Leader and frontbenchers, including route mapping, venue scouting, scheduling, on-the-day logistics and staffing. Executing set piece announcements and organising high-profile rallies and photo opportunities. Responsible for coordinating and managing teams on the ground at events. This
role will involve working closely with the Leaders Visit Coordinator and Regional Communications Manager.
Stakeholder coordination: Liaise with parliamentarians, and the wider communications team to align event objectives with local and national priorities and campaigns.
Equipping teams: deliver training and guidance to MPs, MP staff and other internal teams on organising media events and visits.
Reputation and risk: Identify and mitigate logistical or reputational risks, ensuring all events reflect the party’s values and enhance public engagement.

Person Specification:
Highly organised: Proven ability to manage complex events with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Strong communicator: Able to translate political objectives into practical delivery plans and work effectively with senior stakeholders.
Delivery at pace: Experience of managing live events and responding quickly to changing circumstances.
Politically aware: Good understanding of UK politics and the importance of visits and events in driving media and digital impact.
Collaborative: Skilled at building relationships across parliamentary teams, local parties, suppliers, and security partners.
Values-driven: Committed to the aims and principles of the Liberal Democrats.
