Salary: from £35,000
Location: Bristol, Manchester or London, with regular travel required to LDHQ and across the country.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Liberal Democrat communications team at a pivotal moment. Following our historic success in electing 72 MPs, we are scaling up our regional digital communications to win even more seats and counter the rise of Reformat the next election.
In this role, you will be the driving force behind our regional campaigns. You’ll work independently and creatively to ensure the party’s message cuts through on social media and reaches audiences across the country where they are, by turning issues into high-impact local campaigns with a digital led approach. You will advise MPs and other key stakeholders on how to drive engagement with our policies and ensure that our values resonate with voters.
Key responsibilities:
● Equipping teams: Provide templates, toolkits, and strategic advice to MPs and local parties to help them maximise their reach and engagement on social platforms and in their local communities.
● Coordinating point: Engage with teams across the organisation - national media, campaigns, policy to draw out themes and campaigns which will resonate with target audiences at a regional level.
● Digital content: Produce, film and edit high-quality short-form video and social media content at speed, highlighting cross-cutting campaign issues
● Visual impact: Staff and support regional visits and events as required, including by ensuring they are captured and packaged specifically for digital-first audiences.
> Strategic Growth: Monitor digital trends and sentiment to identify opportunities for viral content and targeted regional and local messaging.
● Crisis comms: Protect and enhance regional digital reputation and participate in the communication team’s out-of-hours rota.
Person Specification:
● Self-motivated: Proven track record of working autonomously, seizing and self-generating opportunities for impact.
● Strong storyteller: Skilled at developing content that resonates with a multi-channel campaign approach.
● Politically savvy: Deep understanding of UK politics and able to quickly turn complex policy issues into engaging scripts and content for use on social media
● Technical capabilities: Experience creating videography, photography, graphic (using tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva or similar).
● Organised and strategic: Able to manage long-term campaigns while responding to a fast-moving news cycle.
● Values-driven: Committed to the aims and principles of the Liberal Democrats.
