Job Title: Campaign Organiser

Salary: £26,000 pro rata + pension contribution.

Hours: Part-time, 15 hours per week (7.5 hours per local party)

Tenure: Fixed-term contract, initially for 12 months, with the expectation of extension and permanent role.

Location: Homeworking or Liberal Democrats office, Broadstone, with off-site working across the local party areas.

Closing Date: Friday, 30th January 2026 at 5pm

Summary
The North Dorset and South Dorset Liberal Democrats are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who can play a key role in building our volunteer infrastructure, creating leaflets, and organising doorstep activities.

Both are long-established and well-known local parties within the local authority of Dorset, being very successful in the recent local elections. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on developing the local parties and ensuring future electoral success. The initial contract will be for twelve months, but we anticipate the role will become permanent for the right candidate.

You will be communicating with volunteers about upcoming campaign activities, recruiting new volunteers, designing and arranging distribution for campaign leaflets, coordinating constituency door-knocking efforts, and working together with Councillors, Parliamentary Candidate and the wider team to steer campaigning efforts.

Job Description
The job entails a wide range of tasks and requires ever-changing skills. You will be expected to:
● Run local campaigns on the ground, directly with our local communities and assist in strategic planning and campaign organisation.
● To build and develop digital campaigning capacity.
● Produce high-quality communication literature in print and electronically.
● Nurture grassroots volunteering and network, leading on the recruitment of volunteers to build our capacity to fight and win elections.
● Help manage our existing volunteers.
● Support our Parliamentary Candidates with their campaign as directed by the line manager.
● Support our councillors in their campaigns as directed by the line manager.
● Manage and monitor voter contact.
● Attend relevant conferences, training and other meetings as required.
● Any other duties as reasonably required.

The job will also provide the opportunity to build a wide range of highly desirable skills - fromvolunteer management to graphic design and communications, giving the successful
applicant a strong platform for career and personal development. You will have access to training and resources. This will set you up well for future careers in politics, campaigning
and many other fields.

Person Specification
The following are considered essential:
● Ability to communicate effectively with and maintain the confidence of a wide variety of stakeholders.
● Ability to lead, inspire, mobilise and manage volunteers.
● Excellent written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
● Ability to work independently with limited supervision; self-motivating and able to manage own workload.
● Comfortable using Google and Microsoft applications.
● The willingness to learn and develop relevant skills.
● Ability to motivate and manage a team of people and work effectively as a team member.
● Ability to meet deadlines.
● Ability to delegate effectively.
● Sympathetic to Liberal Democrat aims and/or values.

The following criteria are considered highly desirable:
● Previous involvement with Liberal Democrat campaigns.
● Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
● Knowledge of the local area, its politics and local communities.
● Experience of Liberal Democrat software and databases (e.g. Affinity Publisher,
Lighthouse & Connect).
