Salary: £26,227 pro rata
Hours: 7.5 hours per week (flexible, with times to be agreed with successful candidate)
Tenure: One year fixed term contract
Location: Home, and travelling across Telford & Wrekin borough

Purpose of the job
Telford & Wrekin Liberal Democrats are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated person who can deliver campaign activity, and contribute to building campaign capacity in the borough ahead of next year’s local elections.
This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver campaigning activity, and build the infrastructure and organisation necessary to defend our wards and gain new wards at the May 2027 Telford & Wrekin Council elections.
Job Description:
The work required will vary over time, as priorities change, but will include the following:
- Support ward teams in building organisational capacity – including recruiting members, donors, deliverers and poster sites.
- Support ward teams in delivering an ongoing programme of doorstep communication with voters
- Artwork campaign literature and liaise with printers.
- Directly participate in campaigning activities.
- Assist with recruitment of further candidates.
- Maintain relevant databases as needed, e.g. Connect.
- Contribute to the website and social media campaigns as needed
- Attend meetings as required.
- Other duties relating to campaigning and member engagement, as may be required from time to time.
Person Specification:
The following criteria are considered essential:
- Strong personal organisation and prioritisation abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision, self-motivating and able manage own workload.
- Familiarity with current issues within UK politics and sympathy with the values and principles of the Liberal Democrats.
The following criteria are considered highly desirable:
- Experience of delivering effective Liberal Democrat campaigns.
- Experience typesetting/artworking leaflets based on templates.
- Experience of Liberal Democrat software and databases (e.g. Affinity Publisher, Fleet, Lighthouse & Connect).
- Knowledge of the geography of Shropshire.
- Ability to lead, mobilise and manage volunteers.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
