Location: Based in the West of Scotland (flexible travel across the region, hybrid working possible)

Salary: £28,000

Contract: Fixed term until 31/05/2026

Job Details

The Scottish Liberal Democrats in the West of Scotland are building a winning team - and we’re looking for an energetic and driven Campaign Organiser to help lead the charge.

Following strong gains for the party in recent elections and growing momentum across Scotland, we are now preparing for the following significant electoral challenges ahead of the Scottish Parliament elections next year. The coming campaigns will be crucial to securing more Liberal Democrat representation in our communities and strengthening our voice in local and national politics.

As Campaign Organiser, you will take a central role in growing our activist base, supporting local teams, and driving forward campaigning that makes a real difference to people’s lives across the West of Scotland. You will work closely with committed volunteers, councillors, candidates, and regional staff, helping to build the foundations for future success.

Key Responsibilities

Build local campaigning strength

  • Recruit and support new volunteers across the region
  • Help activists and councillors develop their campaigning skills
  • Match new volunteers to roles that suit their interests and abilities
  • Provide and promote relevant training opportunities
  • Support councillors and candidates to grow strong local teams

Project manage the campaign

  • Coordinate delivery of the campaign plan
  • Work closely with local teams to ensure effective campaign activity
  • Keep campaign tasks on track and maintain momentum

Mobilise

  • Encourage members and supporters to get involved
  • Build a positive, welcoming, and enthusiastic campaign culture

Personal Specification

The following criteria are considered essential:

• Exceptional personal organisation.

• Ability to multitask.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to lead, mobilise and manage volunteers.

• Excellent written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision, self-motivating and able to manage their own workload.

• Familiarity with current issues within UK politics and sympathy with the values and principles of the Liberal Democrats.

The following criteria are desirable:

• Experience in delivering effective Liberal Democrat campaigns.

• Experience of Liberal Democrat software and databases (e.g. Affinity Publisher, Fleet & Connect)

• Understanding of GDPR, data protection and regulations relevant to political campaigning

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

  • Start date: as soon as possible.
