Campaign Organiser (York)
About the Role:
York Liberal Democrats are seeking a motivated individual to support our campaigners, councillors, and candidates, and help our team grow.
This is a permanent position, initially for 15 hours per week, with a view to increasing those hours in the run-up to the 2027 local elections.
Key Responsibilities:
Build strong relationships with candidates and ward teams and work with them to ensure the creation of timely and impactful content for campaign literature, including photographs.
Help to deliver the campaign plan by:
Recruiting, training, managing and mobilising members and volunteers
Leading volunteer teams on campaigning activities (canvassing, poster sites, and delivery)
Ensuring that volunteers add data to the online database (Connect) and enter data yourself where any gaps arise.
Be responsible for the local party’s website, social media and member communications
Assist with the printing and bundling of literature
Use the Connect web platform to send targeted e-mails and maintain campaign logistics, such as walk maps
Assist with fundraising activities
Attend relevant conferences, training and other meetings as required
We are looking for someone who:
Is a self-starter who can work as part of a team and is also comfortable working without direct supervision
Has strong communication and written skills
Can prioritise
Has good organisational skills and attention to detail
Can work with a range of different volunteers and stakeholders
Is competent with standard IT tools (email, spreadsheets, etc.)
Is supportive of the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats
Additional Information:
Access to a car would be desirable, but is not essential
Some evening and weekend work may be required
Training and support will be provided
Pay: In the range of £25,396 to £28,639 per year (pro rata).
Work location: Primarily office-based, with some tasks able to be undertaken remotely.
