Join the team that made history – and help us make more.

When Sarah Green turned Chesham & Amersham Lib Dem in 2021, it was a breakthrough moment that sent shockwaves through Westminster - and she held the seat again in 2024.

Now, the Local Party is looking for a motivated, people-focused Campaign Organiser to build on that success, grow our grassroots volunteer network, and help make Chesham & Amersham a long-term Liberal Democrat stronghold.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in one of the most important Lib Dem constituencies in the country, helping us win seats at every level and make a real difference for local people.

What you’ll do

You’ll be at the heart of our campaigning operation - recruiting, supporting and motivating volunteers, keeping our campaigns on track, and helping get our message out across the constituency.

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Find and inspire volunteers. You won’t wait for volunteers to come to you – you’ll be out knocking on doors, picking up the phone, and firing off emails to find the activists we need.

  • Plan and deliver campaign activities – from doorstep canvassing and phone banking to digital engagement and leaflet delivery.

  • Create high-quality communications – producing content that gets noticed and helps us win elections

  • Keep the show running smoothly – tracking progress, managing data and making sure we stay on schedule

No two days will be the same – you’ll be switching between creative, strategic and practical work in a friendly, passionate team that’s committed to our community and our values.

Your average day might look something like:

  • Checking whether any new volunteers have signed up online and calling them to find out more about them and how they might want to get involved.
  • Writing and designing a new leaflet for Sarah Green MP that gets her key messages across.
  • Phoning through regular activists inviting them to the weekend’s Action Day.
  • Leading a canvassing session in the evening to knock on voters’ doors.

About you

You’ll be someone who enjoys working with people and loves making things happen.
You might already have experience in campaigning, community organising or volunteer management — or you might simply be great at motivating people and getting stuck in.

You’ll bring:

  • A positive, can-do attitude and enthusiasm that inspires others

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills – you get things done and meet deadlines

  • Confidence leading volunteers and managing projects

  • Good communication and teamwork skills – you keep people connected and informed

  • Self-motivation – happy to work independently when needed

  • Calmness under pressure, especially during busy campaign periods

  • Confidence using technology and willingness to learn new tools for data, design and social media

  • A commitment to Liberal Democrat values (and not a member of another UK political party)

Desirable skills: experience in digital design or publishing, website management, Excel/mail merge, or community event organisation. A full driving licence and access to a car would also be helpful.

Why you’ll love working with us

You’ll be joining a welcoming, energetic team that’s passionate about helping our community and building a fairer, more compassionate Britain.
We’ll give you the support, training and freedom to grow your skills, take initiative and make a visible difference in one of the party’s most exciting constituencies.
